HAPPY EARTH DAY! We are SO excited about all of the efforts taking place in the community to celebrate the Earth this month. Let's take a look at what we at the salon have been doing and planning to make our contribution count:
The Manifesta Cut-A-Thon
Thank you so much to all who came out for the Cut-A-Thon last Friday! All month long, Aveda and partnering salons have been working together to raise money for the Clean
Water Fund. Sustaining our clean water supply is so important, especially now as we in California struggle to recover from this terrible drought. Last Friday, April 17, we hosted a Cut-A-Thon with 100% of proceeds from all haircuts during that time going towards our goal of raising $1000 for the Clean Water Fund. We were able to make a sizable dent by raising $350 dollars that day, but we still have a long way to go! We will have a donation jar out in the salon until the end of the month. Help us keep the momentum going - every dollar counts!
The Aveda Trashion Show
Sunday, April 26, 6:30pm at Ruby Skye
We are so thrilled to be attending the Aveda Trashion Show
at Ruby Skye
in San Francisco for a second year! In this repurposed fashion show, each
participating salon submits a model to wear garments made from recycled
materials. Meanwhile, all decorations are hand-made, all makeup is
environmentally sound, and the overall style of the show promotes a healthy,
balanced lifestyle. Ticket sales and donations will go toward the Clean Water
Fund and other environmental initiatives. The show takes place April 26 at
6:30pm, and is open to everyone. Tickets are sold at the door. Support Earth
month and having a fabulous time doing it! We hope to see you there!
New to 'Festa
'Festa has been busy bringing you healing and wellness through popups and yoga classes!
Check out what we've been up to:
Yoga with Leigh
Sundays at 5pm and Mondays at 8am
Leigh has been stopping on on the weekends bring you
relief and healing with yoga
at Manifesta! Join her on Sunday evenings at 5pm to close out the week with
a gentle hatha class. Then, come back on Monday mornings at 8am to kick start
your week with meditation. While yoga on Sundays is normally $15, you and a
friend can attend any class during Earth Month (April) for only $20 total! Monday
classes are donation-based – all donations are appreciated!
Earthlings Superfoods
Speaking of the Earth, juices and smoothies from Earthlings Superfoods are out of this world! We now have a refrigerated kiosk filled with the delicious,
energizing juices from
Earthlings Superfoods! This growing business won our hearts (and our
appetites) during ‘Festaval and we are so excited to finally have them on board
in a more permanent capacity. Want to learn more? Earthlings will be popping up
on Saturday afternoons to share their knowledge about wellness and nutrition!
Woop Woop! Fine Foods
We know how much you love treating yourself to Woop Woop!’s
scrumptious, gluten-free cookies, brownies, and granola every Friday morning.
That’s why we’re bringing them on full-time with a permanent kiosk. Now you can
purchase yummy, gluten-free treats on any day you want to stop by!
The Manifesta Portrait Series
The Manifesta Portrait Series by Lisa Hsia is going strong
as we head into spring! Remember, you can sign up to have your portrait painted
with any appointment you book for 2015. Be sure to sign up for the portrait ahead
of time and plan to stay for at least an extra hour. Show off your beautiful
cut and style in an artistic painting that will be hung in the salon for the
remainder of the year!

Welcome Dalaijah!
Join us in extending a very warm welcome to Dalaijah, an 8th
grader at Westlake Middle School and an aspiring cosmetologist! This is our
second year participating with the Spark program, where we mentor young
students from the community. Dalaijah is already showing a lot of promise as a
future hairstylist, and we’re delighted to have her in the salon!
