For the Love of February!

February is the month of Valentine's Day and there is more than enough love to go around at Manifesta. For those of you who absolutely love getting your hair needs met with us, here are a few fun things in store this month...

For the Love of Oakland 

From now until February 28, you have the chance to really give back to Manifesta by nominating us for Best of Oakland 2015 in Oakland Magazine! If you want to show the world how much you love Manifesta (and your hair!), choose us for best salon, best new business, or vote your stylist for best hairstylist. You don't need an account to vote - it's super quick and easy! And while you're at it, don't forget to vote for your other favorite Old Oakland businesses: Marion and Rose's Workshop, Umami Mart, Maple Street Denim, Crown Nine, Floracultural Society, and more!

For the Love of Art

Lisa Hsia is back for more since her debut with Manifesta at our grand opening, 'Festaval. This year, Lisa will be painting portraits of clients (that's you!) after they get their hair done at Manifesta. This project will be ongoing throughout the year. For a fee of $15-$25 to help cover the cost of materials, you can have your portrait hung with others in the salon until the series is finished. It is $200 to buy your portrait, and the initial fee of $15-$25 will apply to that.

Lisa is available for painting on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 1pm, and Fridays from 2:30pm to 7pm. For potential other times, please ask! An appointment is required to get your portrait painted, for which you should plan about 60-90 minutes. For the Love of Aveda

Love Aveda? Manifesta is expanding its product selection to include Hand and Foot relief, including the new Shampure scented option! Also, look for the new Smooth Infusion Soothing Masque coming this spring. Use the mask once a week to reduce frizz but keep curls, waves, and movement. More tips to come on our blog when we get the product in stock!

We only ask one thing of you this Valentine's Day - Treat Yo' Self! Whether or not you have a big date, book an appointment on Valentine's Day and you'll receive a complimentary glass of champagne and chocolate truffle. No time for an appointment? You may have already noticed, but we also have Valentines available all week to send to your loved ones - we take care of the postage and mail them for you!

Also happening in the neighborhood, Umami Mart and the Trappist are having a Japanese Beer Tasting event in celebration of SF Beer Week 2015. Lastly, Marion and Rose's Workshop has an endorphin chocolate tasting tomorrow, Feb. 12, and DJ Ed the Soulector will be spinning love songs on Feb. 14, Valentine's Day!
